ISG offers a full competitive team, in-house team, and a preteam so that when a student has moved beyond the recreational program we can find the right fit and balance for each gymnast.

ISG Pre-team

Commitment: Per 12 week semester (fall, winter, spring, summer options)
Time commitment: 1 day per week for 2 hours (optional 2nd day available)

Who it’s for:

  • Those who are ready for more of a challenging and detail-oriented program
  • Those who are getting ready for our in-house or competitive team
  • Those who want to learn more advance gymnastics but may not have an interest in competing

Advancement: Ability to transition seamlessly to our in-house or competitive team during the year based on both the gymnasts desire to do so and coaches invitation.

ISG In-House Team

Commitment: Per 12 week semester (fall, winter, spring, summer options)
Time commitment: 1 day per week for 2 hours (optional 2nd day available)
Levels: Xcel Bronze and Xcel Silver

Competitions: There will be 2 or 3 competitions held throughout the season. These meets will take place on weekends at ISG with our girls being the only competitors. They will be real meets with real judges and awards ceremonies. They are optional but encouraged.

Additional expenses:

  • In-house meets
  • Team Leotards

Who it’s for:

  • Those who are ready to learn routines and more advanced gymnastics skills
  • Those who are getting ready for our traditional competitive team
  • Those who want to compete but with less pressure and commitment then our traditional competitive team
  • Those who want to be at a competitive level without the need to compete

Advancement: Ability to transition seamlessly to our traditional competitive team based on both the gymnasts desire to do so and coaches invitation.

ISG Competitive Team

Commitment: 10 month commitment (3 semesters from Sept-June, with optional summer classes) plus meets
Time commitment: 2 or 3 days per week for 2 hours
Levels: Xcel Bronze, Xcel Silver, and Xcel Gold

Competitions: The competition season consists of 1 local meet, 3 qualifying meets, state competition for those who qualify, and 1 in-house meet for a total of 6 meets. With the exception of States (location could be anywhere in NY), all of our meets are typically within an hour of ISG. There is also a regional competition for those who qualify on the silver and gold level. Meets are mandatory for all gymnasts on our competitive team.

  • Meet expenses
  • USAG membership is required for all competitors
  • Leotards, warm ups, bags

Who it’s for:

  • Those who are ready to learn routines and fine tune gymnastics skills
  • Those who are interested in competing at other gyms against other gymnasts within their level and age group
  • Those who are striving to learn and perfect their routines

Advancement: Ability to transition to higher levels when ready
